Application
- Real time monitoring and ttacking of work-in-progress
- Inventory management
- There are three warehouses and two gates as locations of access control and monitoring.
Requirements for Active RFID Implementation
- Active RFID tags (Battery lifetime 5- years and can change battery)
- 2.45 Ghz long range reader with external antenna
- Handheld reader reading distance up to 10 meter.
- Software
Requirements for Active UHF Implementation
- UHF RFID tags Pallet tag (ABS card with mounting hole) UHF/91.5MHz/ISO18000-6B 86x54x3.5K
- UHF long range reader with external antenna (can adjust distance: reading distance 0 meters to 5 meters)
- Handheld reader reading distance up to 1.5 meter
Active vs Passive Tag Solutions
Longer Read Range – RFID passive tags have read ranges limited to a few feet. Active RFID tags have a read range of up to 85 meters (-279 feet)
Larger Data Storage Capacity – Passive tags have limited data storage capacity compared to the RFID active tags.
Data Can Be Sent at Designated Times – Passive tags send data only when they are in close proximity to the RFID reader. Because of the large read range. Active RFID tags can send data at pre-designated intervals or at certain locations. |
